Hollywood Undead Remixes Their Second Album in American Tragedy Redux
Hollywood Undead, a rap rock band from Los Angeles, California, released their first remix album, American Tragedy Redux, on November 21, 2011. The album features 11 tracks from their second studio album, American Tragedy, which was released earlier that year. The remixes were done by various DJs and musicians, such as Digital Dog, Wideboys, Jonathan Davis, Borgore, KMFDM and more.
The band announced the remix album in October 2011, after holding a remix contest for their fans. The contest winners for the songs "Le Deux" and "Bullet" were Dr. Eargasm and Kay V, respectively, and their remixes were included on the album. The band also released the first single, "Levitate (Digital Dog Club Mix)", on October 18, 2011, along with a music video on October 24.
J-Dog, one of the band members, said of the album: "This is our first remix record ever, we got to pick the DJs and re-mixers that the band really likes. We have friends or people we are fans of on here like Jonathan Davis from Korn and KMFDM. It's exciting to have these people involved on this record."
American Tragedy Redux received mixed reviews from critics and fans. Some praised the diversity and creativity of the remixes, while others felt that they were too different from the original songs or lacked cohesion. The album peaked at number 178 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold over 3,000 copies in its first week.
Hollywood Undead is currently working on their third studio album, Notes from the Underground, which is expected to be released in 2013.
The album's lead single, "We Are", was released on October 29, 2012. The song was co-produced by Slipknot and Stone Sour member Corey Taylor, who also appears in the music video. The song received positive reviews from critics and fans, who praised its anthemic chorus and powerful message. The song peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and number 40 on the Billboard Rock Songs chart.
The second single, "Dead Bite", was released on February 3, 2013. The song features guest vocals from actress Melissa Marie Green and singer Shawn "Clown" Crahan of Slipknot. The song was accompanied by a horror-themed music video, directed by Corey Soria, that features cameos from actors RJ Mitte, Derek Mears and Sid Haig. The song received mixed reviews from critics and fans, who either praised or criticized its dark humor and heavy sound. The song peaked at number 15 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and number 47 on the Billboard Rock Songs chart.
The third and final single, "Another Way Out", was released on November 4, 2013. The song was produced by S*A*M & Sluggo, who also worked on the band's previous singles "Comin' in Hot" and "Hear Me Now". The song was accompanied by a comedic music video, directed by Michael Maxxis, that features the band being chased by a psychotic clown. The song received positive reviews from critics and fans, who praised its catchy chorus and upbeat tempo. The song peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and number 36 on the Billboard Rock Songs chart. 061ffe29dd
